Where Promises Stay
He’s a skilled builder with a reputation for being dependable. She’s a passionate cat rescuer new to town with a dream bigger than her budget. When Travis “Trap” Walker meets Lila Mae Dixon to go over the details of a new build, will her feline sanctuary plans help him construct something more than just walls?
Trap has spent his life following his father’s footsteps in the family construction business, planning to take over with his cousin’s wife Ruby. He’s looking for his own property—a small hobby farm where he can finally establish his independence—and maybe find his own redheaded beauty to love and cherish.
Lila Mae arrives in Three Rivers with a mission: expand her cat rescue, The Purrfect Post, into a proper sanctuary. What she lacks in funding, she makes up for in determination and passion. What she needs is someone who understands construction and real estate in this tight-knit community.
When Trap agrees to help build Lila Mae’s sanctuary, their forced proximity ignites unexpected sparks. Her enthusiasm for saving overlooked felines brings color to his structured world, while his steady expertise offers stability her chaotic mission desperately needs.
But as their dreams begin intertwining on the same piece of land, complications arise. Trap must overcome his lingering feelings for Ruby, and Lila Mae struggles to trust that someone could embrace both her and her all-consuming rescue work.
Can these opposites build something lasting together in Three Rivers, or will their differences and insecurities tear down the foundation before it’s complete?
