Carlita, thrilled that her tenant and friend Luigi Baruzzo has popped the question and asked Dernice Cobb to marry him, is hosting an engagement party at Ravello’s to celebrate. With an extensive guest list and Italian dishes galore on tap, the event promises to be the highlight of the Garlucci family’s pre-holiday season.

An eclectic and interesting array of friends arrive to help celebrate, including some rough and rowdy bikers Dernice and Luigi ride with. All seems peaceful and calm despite a recent argument between two of the members, when one of them was injured during a ride.

A guest, one who was involved in the previous argument, becomes violently ill and is rushed to the hospital. Carlita is shocked to discover he’s been poisoned.

Concerned about his welfare, she and friend, Elvira Cobb, visit the man, relieved to discover he’s on the mend. Their relief is short-lived when he takes a turn for the worse and dies.

The story of his death and the events leading up to it, are leaked to the local news, inadvertently causing Ravello’s Italian Eatery’s upcoming holiday bookings to plummet.
