Guard Me Roughly

She was supposed to die alone in that cave.
The prophecy called for her blood. Her bones. Her final breath.
Instead, she summoned me.
Now she walks the edge of death with crystal in her veins and my name in her pulse. And if the realm wants her gone? It’ll have to kill me first.
I don’t do mercy. I don’t do softness.
But I will guard her — hard.
Against prophecy. Against gods. Against herself.
