Bound By Desire

I was hired as legal counsel for a billion-dollar firm, and the rules were very clear, never bring my personal life to work.

But this morning, as I stepped off the elevator, I saw my ex-boyfriend standing in the lobby, holding flowers and pretending like he didn’t do what he did.

I turned around fast and headed straight towards the executive wing, my heels loud on the marble floor.

When I reached the corner office, my billionaire boss looked up from his desk, his eyes locked on mine like he already knew.

He stood slowly, came around the desk, and took the file from my hand without even reading it.

Then he brushed my hair behind my ear and growled,

“If he came here for you, then he just made a big mistake.”
