Truce, Please.

My entire life came to a screeching halt years ago when my parents were murdered. I was in college and on the fast track to becoming a paramedic, but overnight I had to drop out and become the underboss to my older brother. Years later, my life would falter again when one drunken night with my best friend turned us almost instantly to sworn enemies. I know he felt the same things I did that night. He’s just too damn stubborn to do anything about it besides run.
