Answering a desperate call for help puts Owen Sturgess back in the line of fire.

Owen Sturgess could really use a break. After being ambushed, kidnapped, and tortured in a case of mistaken identity involving his twin brother, all he wants is some time to heal. But when a desperate plea for help comes his way, Owen can’t turn his back-even if it thrusts him straight into danger once again.
Evie Ashworth never thought she’d return to Saddle Junction, but her sister’s sudden death leaves her no choice. Caring for her orphaned niece and nephew brings her back to the family ranch she vowed never to see again. But as unsettling events unfold, Evie grows convinced her sister’s death wasn’t an accident. Who would want Simone dead-and why? Even more alarming, it seems Evie may be the killer’s next target.

Relying on her former best friend, Owen, for help only complicates matters when Evie realizes the feelings she buried long ago are still very much alive. But does Owen feel the same? Or will a relentless killer ensure they never get the chance to find out?
